The summer is flying by. I can’t believe it’s already been two weeks since one of my best friend’s came to visit. Alex and I had a great time and went to a lot of my Las Vegas favorites – Tea Lounge at Mandarin Oriental (for one drink and the view), Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan (for the secret flower drink), Beer Park at Paris, Commonwealth, Panevino, and Le Thai.
On Friday night, we toured the Neon Museum before a night out downtown. Without hesitation, I suggested we eat at Le Thai to kick off the evening. Le Thai is an intimate restaurant on Fremont Street with a beautiful outdoor patio in the back. The Thai eatery is known for their curries and noodle dishes but I’ve never known someone to complain about anything on the menu. The food is phenomenal; Chef Dan Coughlin knows what he is doing.
I know what you are thinking – a picky eater in a Thai restaurant? – it shocked me, too. I studied the menu on my first visit and nervously selected the Mixed Vegetable Stir Fry. The dish is served with your choice of chicken, beef, pork, tofu, or shrimp and stir-fried bean sprouts, Chinese and American broccoli, mushrooms, onion, carrots, zucchini, and tomato. To fulfill my picky tastes, I asked for Chicken with American broccoli, carrots, and zucchini only. Luckily, the servers always agree. I’ve never had anything else; except the crispy spring rolls to start. Alex was the first of many who I’ve introduced to Le Thai to order the Awesome Flat Noodle Dish. She loved it!
The only down side of Le Thai’s well-established reputation in Las Vegas is the fact that they only accept reservations for parties of 6 or more. Get in early or be ready to wait! Luckily, we planned ahead and made sure to arrive before the Friday Night crowds.
